One Friday evening a month some girls and I get together and scrap. We just bring whatever we are working on and visit. It is an evening that I look forward to every month. Last night was our evening and we had a blast. Sheena, a friend of mine, made some beautiful cards so I took pictures of them. I really like how she coloured in the cakes and then layered them. I will definitely have to try that some day.
Sheena used Glimmer Mist on the second card to give it a little bit of sparkle. I think that this card looks very elegant.
Finally, today I was working on some Easter cards. I copied a card that Mary from CardzTV made. I really like it.

I have come to the conclusion that I am not a very good blogger. I get so busy with life that I can go weeks, even months, without looking at my blog. When I last wrote I was starting a new mini album. That album is complete and I have also finished another. It can take me a month or more to finish a mini. I usually only work on it in the evenings for a short time. I will post videos of these projects to my blog as they are uploaded.
I think that I can safely say that spring has come to Saskatchewan (I hope). We have been blessed with some beautiful weather in March and April has come in much the same way. Most of the snow is gone and now we will have to contend with a little mud for a while as the ground thaws. I can't wait until everything starts to green up. Spring and summer are my favorite seasons even though there is more work to do.
I hope that everyone has a nice Easter and God Bless.
Tonight I started working on a Christmas Mini Album. I don't know what I will do with it when it is finished but it is fun to make. I never seem to remember my camera to take pictures at Christmas. I hope I do this year or I will have to give this away. I have started on the cover and the inside page. Nothing is glued down yet, I think that I will look at it a few days before I commit to it.
It was fun making the tree. I used a new sizzix die to cut the tree out of chipboard, then I stamped it in Versamark. I embossed it with UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel) and finally added green glitter, reheating the embossing powder so that the glitter gets embedding into it. I did the same for the numbers that I cut out using my Pooh Font cricut cartridge. I used red glitter for the numbers. I will definitely use this technique again although it is a little messy and you get glitter all over.
I finished the kit that I purchased from Marie at the Pretty Paper Boutique. I called my mini Carte Blanche. It was so much fun to do. In the process of working on this album I have realized that I need more space. It seems that I am constantly cleaning up. I don't have a very big space to work in. Anyway, this mini was donated to the library to use on a draw table. It was hard to see it go but I guess that I can always make another.
Well November certainly has been a busy month and December looks like it will be the same. I am finally getting around to posting a few of my projects. Today's project is a baby mini album that I made for a friend. It is the first mini album that I have finished and was a lot of fun to make. I think that it is more challenging to make an album for a boy than a girl. You have to be careful not to make it too girlyl; limited flowers and other feminine embellishments.
I have put photo albums up on Picasa and if you click on the photo it should take you there. I have also put a video on Youtube of the pages. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that it works.
Last week was a very busy week for me. I finished 5 quilts in 4 days. I think that is the most that I have ever done. Mind you, a couple of the quilts were quite small and I was able to get them done quickly. Yesterday was a shopping day and I picked up some gems, among other things, to make flowers. This morning I made a flower using Rose's technique and love that way that it turned out.
Here are 2 videos of Rose showing her technique.
This afternoon I went to the library to make 10 Christmas Cards. I had a great time, as you can see by the ink on my hand in the previous photo. Here is a picture of some of the cards that we made.
Today I got a kit in the mail that I ordered from Marie at http://www.theprettypaperboutique.blogspot.com/ She does wonderful kits at very reasonable prices. This kit was called "First Blush" and it is absolutely beautiful. It was $17.00 US shipped. I think that is very good for what you get in the kit. Marie has a wonderful sense of colour and all of her kits are fabulous. I know that I will order more from her.
