Busy, Busy, Busy

Another day with a late start. I think I will have to see the doctor and get some sleeping pills. Even though I didn't start until after lunch I accomplished a lot today. I finished another giraffe.
I quilted one quilt and am about halfway done a second.
And, I decided to take an inventory of my quilting threads.
Busy, busy, busy.  Now I am super tired and I hope that I can fall asleep ;)

For not getting out of bed before noon...

For not getting out of bed before noon, I got a lot done today.

I had a rotten night's sleep last night and thought that today would be a bust. I went downstairs to my studio and thought that I would try to load a quilt. Well I got that loaded and decided to embroider a giraffe for a quilt that I want to make.

I had both machines going and just went from one to the other. I finished the quilt and was able to load another. I even was able to sew six more blocks for my Celtic Solstice. Yoo-hoo!  I haven't done that much in over a month. Let's hope it continues.

This is the quilt that I was working on. I used the pantograph called Bubbles at 6 inches. Next time I use this pantograph I will try to remember to reduce the size. That is the one thing that I don't like about using a computer to quilt, it is hard to judge sizes from the screen. I will have to keep a better record of what I like and don't like for sizes.

I'm Back

I have decided to try blogging again. I am off work for a month and can't do much so I thought I would try this again. Today I spent some time in my basement quilting studio.  I am very anxious to finish a project that I started at Christmas. I decided to take part in Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt, Celtic Solstice.  The mystery is finished and I am still plugging away at it.  I am almost done all of the blocks and then it will be on to sewing the rows and borders. This is certainly a case of "slow and steady wins the race."

Finally, time to garden

My mom and my great niece came out for a few days.  I finally had a little time to do a bit of yard work, and did my yard need it. We would fill a wheelbarrow full of weeds and trimmings then mom would take it behind the barn to dump it.  It wasn't long before my niece decided that the wheelbarrow would make a nice ride.

I just came back from my scrapbooking night.  It sure is nice to get out with friends and share ideas. I thought that I would post another picture of a card that I have made in the last few months.
In April I went to a quilting retreat and met some very nice ladies. One of the ladies made cookies to bring to the retreat.  They were fabulous and I asked for the recipe. She mailed it to me and I thought that I should make her a thank you card. Thus, this card was made. I will edit this post later and include the recipe.

Updates to my blog.

I have been playing around with the format of my blog. I am not sure that I like it very much but when I have more time I will try to do some more work on it.
I thought that I should post a photo of a card that I made recently.

This was a thank you card  that I made using the Wild Card cartridge for the Cricut machine.  I cut out three sunflowers and then put coppper stickles on the centers of each flower.  I used 2 Stampin Up punches to punch out the sentiment and then tied a bow around the front of the card with some satin ribbon.  I got the idea for this card from "MadebyMomo" at YouTube.  If you get the chance search for her videos there. She does fabulous cards using the Cricut.
That's all for now.  I must get to work finishing a quilt.

What I have been up to the last few months.

I know that I haven't posted in more that a couple of months. It isn't because I haven't been doing anything, in fact I have been quite busy. Quilting has taken up most of my time but I still sneak in time for papercrafts. I just haven't worked updating my blog into my schedule. I will have to try harder at that.

Even though I wasn't updating my blog, I was trying to take pictures of my projects so that I could post them when I had more time. I will try to post these pictures in the next few days. I think that I also have a video or two that I haven't put on my blog yet and I will try to get them up as well.

My first project is a mini album that I made a few months ago. I donated this album to our local Kinette club to use on a raffle table in March.
